The European Athletics Championships, which will take place in Israel for the first time, is a special opportunity to congratulate you, the Israeli Athletics Association, on your impressive work towards the competition. Bringing the championship to Israel for the first time was made possible by your excellent work and dedication to the even and the promotion of Athletics in Israel. A warm and unique welcome awaits the 48 countries that will be hosted here, showing them the beautiful side of Israel.
I would like to point out that the Athletics is an important sport event with long and deep roots in the history of Israeli sports. We will continue to do everything possible to promote sport in Israel and to bring more and more championships to the country.
