On Wednesday, the 22nd of June, we were at Givat- Ram Stadium where the European Athletics U18 Championships is about to take place.
The stadium was decorated in balloons, branded with the U18 championship branding signs across the track and the red ribbon was ready to be cut.
The mayor of Jerusalem, the hosting city, Mr. Moshe Leon, said: “The people of Jerusalem will keep coming here, and they will practice along with the international athletes and enjoy all the great advantages this stadium and city has to offer.”
The stadium was revealed in the presence of the head of the sports administration – Mr. Ofer Bustan, The chairman of the Israeli Athletics Association – Mr. Ami Baran, and the president of the Hebrew University – Prof. Asher Cohen.
The revealing stadium ceremony was broadcasted live to the Israeli sports channel with many more sports journalists who covered this sports news event.
The U18 Championships LOC, the Jerusalem municipality and the Israeli Athletics Association are thrilled about this special occasion – to revel the new stadium.
